Eric Conway: Morgan represented well in national ceremony commemorating 50th anniversary of MLK Assassination!

Eric Conway wrote on April 5, 2018:

Hello all,,

Most of you know that yesterday was the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Yesterday at 4 PM, in Memphis, in front of the Lorraine motel, the acclaimed choral voices of 105 Voices in History sang in solidarity during this event.  The event was telecast on C-Span live!

Morgan sent two voices to participate with the national choir - soprano, Lydia Ford and baritone, JaVonn Bright - both represented Morgan well!

Prior to the formal program, Morgan choir member Lydia Ford led in Hold On, Change is Comin’.

The choir sang four songs in the formal program.  At the beginning of the program, former alumnus Patrick Dailey led the solo in J. Weldon Norris’ "Lord, I Don Done what you tol’ me to do." The final choral selection was led by current Morgan choir member JaVonn Bright in "There is a Balm in Gilead.  See a photo of a listing of the program attached.  Also, click on link below to view the entire ceremony in front of the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, TN!
