Newsletter Of The Dessaix Baptiste Music School
April-May, 2012 / No. 11
“In newsletter #5, we announced the creation of the Haitian Association of Music Schools (HAMA), at a meeting between directors of music schools in the country on May 9, 2011. In its startup phase, the associa-tion has recently been energized by a project in partnership with the French association Heritage Without Borders and another project with the conductor Dr. Jean Montès.

“In view of these events, members of the association met on Monday, May 28, 2012 and decided to change the name of the association: it is now the National Association of Music Schools of Haiti (NAMSH – ANADEMH in French) to make more explicit the country-wide aspect of our work. Some items have been added to the Articles of Association and honorary members have been selected to support the NAMSH. We welcome musicians and those seeking to sup-port cultural growth who wish to lend their support to music schools of the country. We hope that these changes will allow the association to work more effectively in promoting the teaching of music in its member schools.”
