The singer and composer Waundell Saavedra, http://www.waundellsaavedra.com/, was born in Pittsburgh. His music education has been described as: “Temple University (BM), Peabody Conservatory, Academy of Vocal Arts.” Waundell is President and Artistic Director of Empire Opera, whose website says:

“Empire Opera is a non-profit corporation in the State of New York. We support the music of living composers as well as works that are never or rarely performed. We are committed to seeking out and embracing new audience members and making opera lovers of
them, especially the youth.”
