“Music’s power as a vehicle for joy and sorrow and as an essential component of celebration and remembrance was on display in all its glory at Symphony Hall Friday evening.

“The Springfield Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, the Children’s Chorus of Springfield, students from the Community Music School, the Extended Family Choir, and guest soloists joined together in a concert entitled 'God Bless America,' to mark the 375th anniversary of the city, the 75th anniversary of Big Y, and the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.”
