[Adolphus C. Hailstork]
Adolphus Cunningham Hailstork (b. 1941) is a prolific composer, a professor and an Eminent Scholar at Virginia's Old Dominion University. His works appear on at least 27 CDs, with another complete recording in the works. He is profiled at AfriClassical.com. Not long ago, he was inducted to the “City School District of Albany Hall of Fame.” He credits his music career to his public school Music Education, which gave him opportunities to write, perform and conduct music in his student years. Hailstork was a member of the Albany High School Class of 1959.

“Adolphus Hailstork, 70, is an African-American composer based in Virginia who grew up in Albany. He returns to the area this weekend when the Berkshire Choral Festival performs his work 'Break Forth.'
